And the perfect match for any lake is the Adirondack Guideboat.  Described by Keith as “ripples and ribs in perfect concert with one another” the guideboat is like no other watercraft of its kind. Steeped in the history of the region the guideboat is a remarkable art form. For Keith Austin building guideboats is a passionate pursuit. In 2006, Keith sold his NJ based business and moved to Long Lake with his family to pursue his Adirondack dream. He now is a 6th generation guideboat builder. Working on his art is not far from its earliest tradition of the original guides, beginning with the harvest of native spruce knees to working with family held hand tools and patterns, his work is labor of love.
